Discover China
China is a dream destination for documentary and street life photographers looking for interesting activities and rich natural scenery. The Asian country has some of the most surreal and remote areas in the continent, making a photography tour worth it. Landscapes are the top attraction in China and are the most photographed sights in the magnificent destination. Guilin is a renowned location in China known for the Karst Mountains which is located next to the Yulong and Li Rivers. The Li River is a fantastic sight made up of whimsical caves, cliffs, and leisurely boats operated by local fishermen. The landscape resembles a Chinese scroll painting that allows photographers to capture mist-shrouded peaks throughout the day. The area is also filled with numerous terraced rice paddies, tribal villages, and occasional buffalo sightings. Huangshan, which is also known as the Yellow Mountains is another famous photography location in China. The mountains are located just outside Shanghai and are surrounded by five
distinct natural wonders. These wonders include winter snow, hot springs, wind-carved pines, the sea of clouds, and impressive granite peaks. Trekking up Mount Huangshan gives you a chance to capture sunsets surrounded by sea of cloud, misty, and granite peaks plus thousands of twisted pines up close.
Besides the stunning Yellow Mountains, the area is also home to two UNESCO world heritage villages namely Honcun and Xidi. The ancient villages are known for their spectacular architectural styles that are seen in public spaces as well as private homes. Photo opportunities also arise when interacting with the villagers as they engage in various activities including cultural events.
